Awards success for Employers For Childcare and High Rise

Employers For Childcare is delighted to have been recognised as the Best Social Enterprise at the Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council Awards, which took place on Friday night (6 March) in La Mon Hotel and Country Club.

Marie Marin, Chief Executive of Employers For Childcare picked up the Award, which was presented by David Arthurs from Social Enterprise Northern Ireland, commenting: “It is a real honour for Employers For Childcare to receive this prestigious Award and to receive the accolade of Best Social Enterprise in the Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council area. We celebrated twenty years in business in 2019, which was a big year for the organisation, and it’s just wonderful to get 2020 off to such a positive start with this Award. I’d like to pay tribute to the Board of Employers For Childcare, for their ongoing support, as well as to all our staff, and, most importantly, our customers. It’s only by them choosing to ‘buy social’ through Employers For Childcare, that we can deliver the impact we do, having invested £6.7 million in the work of our charity, over the past ten years”.

It was a double celebration for Employers For Childcare on the night, with the organisation’s newest Social Enterprise business, the indoor adventure centre High Rise, being presented with the Best New Business Award, sponsored by Lisburn Enterprise Organisation. Marie commented: “Having only opened our doors to the public in October 2019, we are absolutely thrilled for High Rise to have been recognised in this way. High Rise has been over four years in the planning and it’s just so rewarding to see the enjoyment our guests are getting from the centre, and in some cases, the real difference it makes to their lives. Again, we would like to thank our staff team, and all the guests who have visited us since our opening, whose support has been vital in making High Rise the success it is”.

Employers For Childcare would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the winners and highly commended entries for the Awards, and to say thank you to the judges and organisers for all their hard work in planning what was a first class night of celebration of all that’s great about our Council area.
