Is your Child Starting School in September?
Childcare Vouchers can be used for before and after-school care for children up to the age of 15.
When children start school, many working parents are faced with juggling employment while ensuring their children are cared for before and after school. Breakfast and after-school clubs can be a good option as they may be located at the child’s school or, if based elsewhere, offer school drop off and/or collection whilst providing a safe environment.
Many parents are not aware that significant savings can be made by using Childcare Vouchers to help pay for all types of registered childcare; including breakfast and after-school clubs and some holiday schemes, as well as day nurseries and registered childminders.
Once the Childcare Vouchers scheme closes to new entrants in April 2018, parents who are not registered on the scheme will not be able to access this help. We urge parents to think about their future childcare needs as their children grow, and if you are unsure about what support is best for you, contact our Family Benefits Advice Service for free, impartial and confidential advice: advice helpline 028 9267 8200.
