Employers For Childcare publishes annual Social Impact Report 2023-24

Lisburn-based charity Employers For Childcare has, over the past year, supported over 13,000 families to be better off by helping them to identify £1 million each month in financial support they didn’t know they were entitled to. This important work is made possible by the thousands of families who visited High Rise, the charity’s family adventure centre in Lisburn, over the past year. These figures were revealed in Employers For Childcare’s latest Social Impact Report, published today (Thursday 21 November) on Social Enterprise Day.

100% of profits from the organisation’s Social Enterprise businesses, including High Rise, are donated to fund the work of the charity, including a helpline and free advice service for families.

Commenting on the figures, Employers For Childcare Chief Executive Marie Marin said: “Today on Social Enterprise Day we’d like to say a huge thank you to the over 35,000 guests who visited High Rise last year. Together with our Childcare Voucher customers, their support ensures that our charity can continue its vital work, helping families locally and all across the UK. Last year our charity team helped over 13,000 parents, supporting them to get into or stay in work and be better off, putting money back in parents’ pockets and benefiting the wider economy.

She continues: “With Christmas coming up, we’d encourage everyone to ‘buy social’ where they can – whether it’s a celebration lunch for the team at a local Social Enterprise café, buying a Social Enterprise gift or gift vouchers – or organising a fun day out. Our services continue to be in high demand and like all other businesses, it’s been a difficult and challenging few years, yet our sector continues to innovate, adapt and go from strength to strength. And to anyone who wants to see what social impact looks like in action – I’d encourage you to visit High Rise over Christmas or in the New Year!”
