Free webinars for childcare providers and others aimed at increasing uptake of Tax-Free Childcare scheme
Webinars for childcare providers and family facing professionals across the UK are being held to increase awareness and understanding of the Government’s Tax-Free Childcare scheme, with the overall aim of ensuring more families are accessing the financial support they are entitled to with their registered childcare costs.
Low uptake of Tax-Free Childcare
Most working parents are eligible for financial support with their registered childcare costs, yet our Family Benefits Advice Service speaks regularly to parents who aren’t aware that they could be claiming financial support towards the cost of their childcare. Some parents are missing out on £1000s in support as a result.
Uptake of the Tax-Free Childcare scheme, which replaced Childcare Vouchers, remains low and there could be many more families who would benefit from this form of support.
We would encourage anyone working with parents and families to register for a webinar today. Being able to signpost parents to information on financial support available with registered childcare costs could make a real difference for families, making it easier for parents to get into and stay in work, and helping to ensure children can benefit from quality early education and childcare.
About the webinars
The webinars are aimed at childcare providers and family facing professionals across England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.
The webinars will be relevant to you if you are a health visitor, social worker, housing officer, or work in children’s centres, job centres, or if you are an early years and childcare provider, school teacher, or if you are someone else who works with families across the public, private and voluntary sectors.
There will be a useful overview of Tax-Free Childcare and how it could benefit children and families, along with tips and ideas to raise awareness and encourage more families to sign up.
The webinars will last for 90 minutes, and will take place via zoom. If you are unable to attend a live webinar, they will be recorded, and slides and resources will be shared afterwards. You can find details of how to register for the webinars below.
Employers For Childcare will share details of our supporting families
The webinars are being delivered by Hempsall’s, a specialist early years consultancy, on behalf of HMRC.
Employers For Childcare will also be presenting on our work helping parents by identifying what support they are entitled to with their registered childcare costs.
Through our Freephone Helpline and outreach service, over the last five years our team has identified a total of £54.5 million in financial support for 31,000 families who were unaware of what support they were entitled to.
