Employers For Childcare’s Family Benefits Advice Service helpline number has changed to 028 9267 8200, with immediate effect.

The team can also be contacted by emailing hello@employersforchildcare.org – just include an overview of your circumstances and what you would like help or advice with, along with your contact details, and they can arrange a callback for a time that suits you, if they need further information.

The Family Benefits Advice Service is part of Employers For Childcare’s charity, and provides free, impartial and confidential advice on a wide range of childcare and work-related issues. This includes:

• Tax-Free Childcare
• Universal Credit
• Tax Credits
• Childcare Vouchers
• Maternity/Paternity leave and pay
• Shared parental leave
• Flexible working rights and entitlements.

They can also advise on broader financial support that families are entitled to, including:

• Support with disabilities
• Carers Allowance
• Housing costs
• School uniform and transport costs.

Last year, for parents where we carried out a personalised ‘better off’ calculation, we identified an average of £5,600 in financial support for families, so it’s well worth while getting in touch.

We would advise all parents to call us regularly, especially if your circumstances have changed (eg working more or fewer hours, a new arrival in the family, change in childcare arrangements) to make sure you are receiving the right form of financial support for your family.
