Northern Ireland Childcare Cost Survey 2012
The Childcare Cost Survey 2012 paints a worrying picture for families in Northern Ireland. With the average full-time childcare place in Northern Ireland increasing to £156 per week, 44% of a parent’s salary is allocated to childcare costs for one child.
The findings illustrate that the current childcare infrastructure is continuing to fail ordinary working parents, with many struggling to source and pay for appropriate childcare.
This is our third annual Childcare Cost Survey for Northern Ireland. Each year we ask parents to tell us about their experience of using and paying for childcare. The results of the survey are used to campaign for more financial assistance for parents with their childcare costs.
